Biographical Info
Yvonne Olando a Clinical Psychologist and World Heart Federation fellow, is a part time lecturer and PhD Candidate-University of Nairobi. She consults for WHO-AFRO, Colombo Plan (DAP) NACADA and Private hospitals. She has trained healthcare professionals, evaluated tobacco cessation clinics and participated in drafting Clinical guidelines for tobacco cessation in 8 African countries.
Yvonne is internationally certified as an Addictions professional (ICAP III) and a tobacco cessation specialist (CTTS)- MAYO Clinic, USA. She is a Board Member at SAPTA, the Organizing secretary ‘International Society of Substance Use Prevention and treatment Professional’ (ISSUP-K), Ass. Secretary-Kenya Association of Addiction Professionals (KAAP), Ass. Treasurer –CPAK, Member-Association for Treatment of Tobacco Use and Dependence (ATTUD) and Associate Member- Kenya Psychiatric Association (KPA).
Recent research studies Yvonne has been involved in: Co-PI and Tobacco cessation specialist: MHealth for TB-Tobacco: An approach to reduce tobacco, use among TB patients.
